silly little CHRISTMAS gifts

COPPER ART !
I printed out a photo of aspen leaves and taped it down to the copper and then went around and outlined the images by tapping indents into the metal with a hammer and nail. Of course afterwards I oxidize it. This isn't finished here, I forgot to take a photo of the finished piece before I gave it away. To finish it, I cut it down to size and put it in a wooden frame that I rubbed down with black acrylic paint and then sprayed with a protective gloss finish.

Little sister and her new button earings!!! The buttons don't match which was planned and they were also super easy to make! I used copper wire to attach the button, which I then oxidized to turn it black. She loves them

Here is a picture I put together for Josh! I didn't build the frame or matting but did put together the text, sorry the photo isn't that great, I'll try to explain what I did and just know it looks better in real life! I found the quot and font that I liked and printed out two copies on rice paper. Then I melted wax in a brownie pan on the stove and dipped one of the copies in it along with a gold-ish piece of tissue paper. Then I centered and glued the wax dipped copy down to the matting, next I glued down the waxed tissue paper, and then the copy without wax which I glued down off center. Dipping the rice and tissue paper in the wax made it transparent, therefore the last layer of text can be seen, creating a shadow for all the text. It turned nicely.

Attempt to create wall art for Josh...It's a time-trial road bike and I found out later that I missed some gears on the back tire and the chain. Hope he still enjoys it !

Here is a belt buckle that I made out of copper for my good friend Becca. The Iris flower she got tattooed on her foot in memory of her uncle who passed away. It is also oxidized!

Here are a pair of earings that were special ordered!!!! My first one...well besides Tara's ring :) The metal is all sterling silver, and the bits of green sparkles are Austrian crystals. I have been informed that the receiver of this gift is quite happy!

Alex's little disproportional running man ornament!

Random wall decorations. Made of wood, spray paint, and wire.
(sorry about the crappy photo, to lazy to go outside and take it)

For my Harry Potter obsessed friend Christin :)
mini lightning bolt pillow

Snitch ornament!

Here is a little polar bear picture I made for Dev a long time ago. I first sketched a polar bear on rice paper and then dipped it in wax. Then I glued it on top of a piece of clean-x box that had an interesting bluish water looking design on it. After that I glued that onto a piece of white card stock paper.

oh the many things that become ART

This project involved three glasses from Goodwill, cinnamon, pine cones, wire, flower petals, hemp and fishing line, and drilling holes through glass! They smell quite nice :) and are quite classy!

Here are some wire spheres hung from fishing line.

Wall decoration flowers made from toilet paper tubes that I stapled together and pinned to the wall! Love these

Here is a ring that I made from one single piece of brass wire. Pliers were involved and I did oxidize it :)

The more difficult metal projects

Dev's cuff links getting some love :)

COPPER CUFF LINKS WITH A DIAMOND BIT TEXTURE! These were made all from copper sheet metal, copper wire and copper chain! After I got them all soldered together I cleaned them up with a grinder and sandpaper, textured them with a diamond bit tool, oxidized them and to complete them, gave them a brass brushed finish.

Tara's sterling cast ring! It is a square MAPLE LEAF ring made of sterling silver and also oxidized. The bottom photo is what it looked like after I cleaned all the investment off of it!

The RANDOMS

SILLY RINGS
Here are more wire wrapped rings! They are all made from oxidized brass wire and all have one crystal that is either pink or purple!

Bailed Projects! Here are three necklaces that are all bailed together with brass wire and are hung on red brass chain and have brass clasps. The first one has red coral beads (SOLD), the second has painted wooden beads from a bracelet I took apart and the third has large wooden beads.

MORE BRACELETS EVERYWHERE! They are made of brass and copper, just copper and just brass. All are oxidized and vary in size. I really like to wear mine over plane long sleeve shirts and cardigans. They are quite rustic looking.

Here, in the photo on the left is a simple necklace with a single tear drop shaped jade bead. It is hung off of red brass which I oxidized slightly and has a brass clasp.

The necklace on the right I'm not too sure about... I can't tell if it's, well, fashionable in some way or just strange. Hmmm, this might be the happenings of trying to create too many things too quickly.

The News

I would like to say THANK YOU to Helen who owns Willow - An Artisan's Market, a little art boutique in Littleton CO. She has taken nine of my necklaces and is trying to sell them there! Wish her luck!!! Below is a photo of the method I chose to get all of my jewelry to her shop for her to look at, I thought it was kind of clever :)

randoms

So I did NOT like the necklace I made below, I thought the colors in the beads were terrible with the brass and copper oxidized links... so here is the re-do.
Oh, and sorry for the terrible photo...

Another wire wrap! The links are made of twisted brass and copper wire with African opal beads. It is hung on brass chain and has a brass clasp.

HERE are some more ceramic pendants!!!

The pendant on the left is on oxidized brass chain with purple crystals and the piece on the right is hung off of a copper chain.

Misc. bailing projects!

The photo on the left is of 10 hammered brass discs with mother of pearl/shell beads hung on larger oval brass chain.

On the right is a piece that consists of alternating hammered copper discs and sodalite beads that are all bailed together and hung off of doubled sterling chain with a sterling clasp.

This piece consists of many amethyst beads bailed together with brass along with a brass S clasp.

I actually really like this piece and the simplicity of it. It is made of copper discs (made from sheet metal), copper wire and clasp with turquoise beads and oxidized brass chain.

This piece is one of my new favorites! It is made with brass wire and shell/mother of pearl beads, and two different styles of oxidized brass chain.

Tiger's Eye and oxidized brass chain and wire.

This piece is made with brass wire and flat, round mother of pearl beads given to me by my friend Becca!!
